'Partner' inspired from 'Hitch'

Hollywood films have often inspired movies in Hindi film industry. Director David Dhawan’s upcoming film Partner is one such flick. It has been inspired from director Andy Tennant’s Hollywood movie ‘Hitch’ (2005), a romantic comedy featuring Will Smith, Eva Mendes, Kevin James and Amber Valleta.‘Hitch’ was about a professional date doctor who specializes in the art of wooing women. He guides one of his clients in wooing a celebrity. But the date doctor finds himself unable to woo the woman he desires. In the end, he discovers that it is not so much about using methods in wooing women. It is about letting love finds its own way. In ‘Partner’, Salman Khan plays an expert on women who guides Govinda in winning the love of Katrina Kaif . But Salman himself has tough time wooing Lara Dutta .David Dhawan doesn’t deny that ‘Partner’ is inspired from ‘Hitch’, but he makes it clear that his movie is not a copy of the English film. “The film (Hitch) sparked an idea in my mind. I have used that idea in telling the story in an Indian context with my own treatment of the subject,” Dhawan is quoted as saying. Dhawan promises that ‘Partner’ will have very desi humour. The comedy in ‘Partner’, the director insists, is not lifted from ‘Hitch’. ‘Partner’ is produced by Sohail Khan productions. The film is slated to hit the theatres on July 20.

Katrina Kaif Speak That She had no affair with Salman Khan

She does not have a one relaese to her credit yet, but she has already created enough waves in the cut-throat domain of Bollywood. Whether it is her unceremonious ouster from Mukesh Bhatt's SAAYA or alleged links with Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif has come in the news for one reason or the other. Katrina, who has been brought up in London, said in a Interview with media persons on Friday (May 09, 2003) evening that her maiden venture BOOM would pave way for her in Bollywood. "I started modeling at the age of 14 and always wanted to come to India. I met Kaizad Gustad one day in London and he offered me his directorial venture BOOM, an offer that I immediately seized. Besides my role, I liked the set-up and the script of the movie, so I accepted the offer. I will not say it is a dream launch for me, but it has really been a learning experience." On her alleged link-up with Salman Khan, this 20-year-old said that news linking with him are totally baseless and untrue. "Gossips are part of this profession and one has to cope with them." Born to a Kashmiri father and an English mother, Katrina, who is one among her eight sisters, said that she came to Bollywood with no preconceived notions.

Katrina replaces Kareena opposite beau Salman in ‘My Punjabi Nikah’

Salman Khan has recently been promoting his girlfriend Katrina’s film career by requesting filmmakers to cast Katrina as the female lead in their films. Salman and Katrina were seen together in brother Sohail Khan’s production ‘Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya’, the two looked good together and the film too was quite a hit. Now Sohail is planning another film and the topic revolves around a wedding. Well whom better to cast than super star bro Salman and his real life love Katrina opposite him in the film ‘My Punjabi Nikah’. However earlier on Sohail Khan had finalized actress Kareena Kapoor opposite Salman for this role. However it now seems poor Kareena has been unceremoniously dropped and replaced by Katrina Kaif. Well after all Katrina is almost like family for the Khans.
Kareena Kapoor was earlier set to play the female lead in Sohail Khan’s film ‘My Punjabi Nikah’ and supposedly it was Salman who suggested Kareena’s name for the film. Kareena and Salman are said to be friends and they get along quite well. They have also done a film, Kyon Ki together and although the film was a flop their pairing was appreciated. Salman is known to also promote his friends careers and Kareena being a friend he recommended her name for the film. However now it seems Salman has probably changed his mind and decided that Katrina should be paired opposite him in the film. So when it came to choosing between friendship and love, obviously Salman an emotional guy chose love, hands down. So Kareena has now been replaced with Katrina. Salman and Katrina will once again be seen together on-screen. Sohail Khan too probably hopes that Sallu and Katz’s off-screen romance will translate on-screen.
